Updated May 2026 · Why limited pets are so special in the Adopt Me economy
⭐ Limited pets were only available during specific events or egg releases. They can no longer be obtained from any egg — only through trading with other players. This makes them among the most desirable pets in all of Adopt Me.
A pet becomes "limited" when the event or egg that provided it ends and is removed from the game. Adopt Me regularly runs seasonal and themed events that introduce new eggs or pets for a defined time window — typically a few weeks. When the event ends, those eggs are removed and the pets inside them can no longer be hatched.
From that point forward, every existing copy of that pet can only change hands through player-to-player trading. No new copies can enter the game.
The value of a limited pet comes down to a simple supply-and-demand dynamic:
Some of Adopt Me's most iconic limited pets came from Halloween events. Spooky-themed pets with dark designs became available only during the Halloween season, then disappeared when the event ended.
Winter-themed limited pets have been released during Christmas and holiday seasons. These pets often feature icy or festive designs and are no longer obtainable outside of trades.
Spring and Easter events introduced pastel and nature-themed limited pets. Like other event pets, they were only available for the event window.
Occasionally Adopt Me runs unique special events or collaborations that produce one-of-a-kind limited pets. These tend to be among the rarest because the events themselves were time-limited and sometimes unexpected.
Because limited pets can only be acquired through trading, they require either finding a player willing to trade for something of equivalent value, or using a trusted platform like Pet Bakery where limited pets are listed for real money by verified sellers.
When evaluating a limited pet in a trade, keep in mind that its age, variant (Normal, FR, NFR, MFR), and the specific species all affect its desirability. An NFR version of a sought-after Halloween limited is worth dramatically more than a Normal version of the same pet.
