What is a Legendary Pet?
In Adopt Me, every pet belongs to one of five rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra-Rare, and Legendary. Legendary is the top tier — representing the most powerful and desirable pets that can emerge from eggs. When a player looks at an egg's probability breakdown, the Legendary percentage is always the smallest number on the list.
Hatch Probability
Legendary pets always have the lowest hatch probability of any tier in an egg. The exact percentage varies between different eggs — some eggs have higher Legendary rates, others keep them very low. Always check the probability screen on the specific egg before spending your in-game Bucks, as the rates differ significantly.
Regardless of the exact rate, Legendary pets are rare enough that most players hatch many eggs before seeing one. Hatch results are independent for each egg — hatching many Commons in a row does not increase the odds of the next hatch being Legendary.
How to Identify a Legendary Pet
Legendary pets are visually distinguished from lower rarity pets in several ways:
- Golden name colour — in your inventory and during trades, a Legendary pet's name appears in gold text. Common pets display in grey, Uncommon in green, Rare in blue, Ultra-Rare in purple, and Legendary in gold.
- Egg glow — when an egg is about to hatch a Legendary pet, it glows with a special golden shimmer before the reveal. Experienced players recognise this glow immediately.
- Rarity label — the pet's information screen clearly shows "Legendary" as the rarity classification.
Legendary vs. Limited Legendary
It's important to understand the distinction between standard Legendary pets (still hatchable from current eggs) and Limited Legendary pets (formerly Legendary but tied to events that have ended):
- Standard Legendary — can be hatched from current eggs, though with low probability. New copies can enter the game whenever players hatch eggs.
- Limited Legendary — can no longer be hatched from any egg. They only circulate through player-to-player trading. Their supply is permanently capped.
