In Roblox Adopt Me, every pet exists in multiple "variants" — different forms that add abilities or enhance visual appearance. The two ways to upgrade a pet are:
Combining both upgrades (Neon + potions) creates the NFR and MFR variants — the highest forms a pet can take.

Fly Potion — Lets you fly on your pet. Grants the pet the ability to fly, upgrading it to "F" (Fly) variant. Fly Potions are available in the Adopt Me shop for Robux or through player trading.
Ride Potion — Lets you ride your pet like a mount. Upgrades it to "R" (Ride) variant. Also available from the shop or through trading.
Applying both potions to the same pet creates an "FR" (Fly-Ride) pet — the most common potion combination sought in trading. Both potions are applied permanently and cannot be removed once used.
