🔄 Trading is the heart of Adopt Me. Understanding how the in-game trade system works — and the etiquette around fair trading — is essential for every player.
Trades can be initiated with any player in the same Adopt Me server. You can find trading partners in the trading plaza area of the map, in community Discord servers, or through platforms like Pet Bakery's trading post.
Click on another player's character or use the trade icon in the UI to send a trade request. The other player will receive a prompt asking if they want to trade with you. They must accept for the trade screen to open.
Once the trade screen opens, both players see two sides — theirs and the other player's. Each player adds the pets and items they want to offer. You can only add items from your own inventory.
Before clicking Accept, carefully read every item on both sides of the trade screen. Verify the species, variant (Normal, FR, NFR, etc.), and age stage of every pet. Do not rush this step — trades are irreversible.
For a trade to complete, both players must click Accept. If either player clicks Decline or leaves the game, the trade is cancelled and nothing changes. Once both players accept, the trade is final and permanent.
The Adopt Me community has an informal code of trading etiquette. Following these norms makes you a respected trader and helps you get better deals:
In Adopt Me's in-game trade system, players can trade:
In-game currency (Bucks) cannot be traded directly between players. Third-party platforms like Pet Bakery let players buy and sell pets securely outside the game, with escrow protection for both sides.
Pet Bakery's marketplace lets players buy and sell Adopt Me pets for real money with escrow protection. Unlike in-game trades, purchases on Pet Bakery go through a secure checkout: the buyer's payment is held until the seller delivers the pet in-game, at which point funds are released. This eliminates scam risk and gives both sides clear recourse if something goes wrong.
