Updated May 2026 · Everything about potions, variants, and FR pets
🧪 Fly and Ride Potions permanently upgrade a pet's abilities. A pet with both potions applied is called Fly-Ride (FR) and is one of the most common — and most traded — pet variants in Adopt Me.
The Ride Potion is a one-use consumable item that permanently applies the rideable ability to a specific pet. Once a Ride Potion is used on a pet, that pet can be mounted and ridden by the player around the Adopt Me world. The ability stays with that pet forever — it cannot be removed or transferred to another pet.
The Fly Potion works the same way: one-use, permanent, applied to a specific pet. Once applied, the pet gains the ability to fly — allowing the player to soar through the air when riding or walking with it. Like the Ride Potion, this ability is permanently bound to that individual pet.
A Fly-Ride (FR) pet is one that has had both a Fly Potion and a Ride Potion applied to it. This is the most commonly traded non-Neon variant in Adopt Me and carries a meaningful premium over a Normal pet. When you see "FR" in a trade or listing, it means the pet can both fly and be ridden.

Fly Potions and Ride Potions were originally sold in the Sky Castle shop in Adopt Me. This shop was located in the sky area of the map and stocked a rotating selection of items including both potions. Today, the Sky Castle shop no longer permanently stocks these potions — they are no longer reliably available in any permanent in-game shop.
As a result, Fly and Ride Potions now circulate primarily through player-to-player trading. They occasionally appear in temporary event shops or limited-time offers, but the main way to obtain them is through trades with other players. This scarcity means potions themselves have meaningful trade value.
Because both Fly and Ride abilities make pets significantly more useful and fun to use, most serious traders apply potions to their pets before trading up. An FR version of any pet is consistently more desirable than its Normal counterpart — players actively seek FR versions of their favourite pets. This makes FR the de facto "standard upgraded" variant for most pet species.
