Updated May 2026 · From Newborn to Full Grown
🐾 Every pet in Adopt Me ages through 6 stages. Understanding the aging system is essential — especially if you want to fuse Neon pets, since all 4 pets must be Full Grown before fusion.
The starting stage for every new pet. Your pet has just hatched and needs basic care. Complete the small set of Newborn tasks to advance to Junior.
Your pet is growing up. Junior tasks include basic feeding, playing, and resting. Complete all Junior tasks to advance to Pre-Teen.
The mid-point of early growth. Pre-Teen introduces more tasks per stage — expect to complete more feeding and sleeping tasks before advancing.
Your pet is halfway through its aging journey. Teen-stage tasks continue the same care loop. Consistency in daily play helps push through this stage quickly.
The penultimate stage before Full Grown. Post-Teen requires the largest number of tasks before advancing. This is where many players spend the most time when aging pets for Neon fusion.
The final stage. A Full Grown pet has completed all tasks and can now be used in the Neon Cave to fuse into a Neon pet. Full Grown pets are ready for fusion at any time — they do not expire or revert.
Each age stage has a set of tasks your pet needs to complete before it can advance. Tasks are the core of the pet-care loop and include:
The number of tasks required increases at each stage — Post-Teen typically has the most tasks, which is why it feels like the longest stage. Once all tasks at a stage are complete, the pet automatically advances to the next stage.
Full Grown is the final age stage and it unlocks the Neon Cave fusion mechanic. You need exactly 4 identical pets at Full Grown to create one Neon pet. The pets are consumed permanently in the fusion — you'll need to age 4 more if you want another Neon.
For players building toward a Mega Neon, they need 16 Full Grown pets total (to make 4 Neons, which then fuse into 1 Mega Neon).
